Week 6: Read, Research, and Review

This past week was a rough, long, and interesting week. At my job we had a get ready to Easter and set up the event on this past Friday. Was a very tiresome time but glad it’s over. I also had to do a lot of research on my own with the individual project along. I do have a little anxiety that we are coming to the end but also relieved because I can’t wait to see all the hard work I have done.

Individual Project

With my Wikipedia article I did a good amount of research and had many ideas on how to add onto the article. I decided to take an approach of just focusing on one section of the article that needed to be expanded on. I choose for the article to talk more about the economy. The section was very small and I believed more information can give people an insight on the city and its progression. Not being bias but, it is a great city with many inner city perks with a suburban setting. I do want to add more into the article so I will continue to do more research.

I was a little confused on how to review the article and the process to know where someone would have made those changes onto the article. I will still look over others articles to assess a peer-review for feedback.

Hi @jambrown I too have some anxiety with this class coming to a ending. Im not sure to weather celebrate or to be nervous. This class was very challenging but also a positive learning curve. Best of luck on your individual project.

Hello Jamal,

It seems like each week may bring more challenges, but with it comes a great deal of excitement as we continue to learn so much with this course. Each week brings a great deal of new knowledge to understand editing more. I liked the way you brought up understanding the economy of a city, I had not thought of that part myself. I am enjoying reading everyone’s work as I go. Good luck as with the rest of the project.

Hi @jambrown,

I agree that the past week was rough and I actually had to travel to San Francisco today for a work conference that lasts the rest of this week. It has definitely been the worst time to have to travel right now with everything else going on in my courses, especially because we are at the end of the courses now and we have many big projects due very soon. I feel like I have been juggling so much these past 8 weeks. I will be thankful when it all starts to slow down soon.

I am excited to see how everyone’s individual projects come together, because I know that we have all done a lot of hard work for them. It is scary and anxiety inducing to officially post the work on Wikipedia, because you just never know what could go wrong with it or if it will be removed or not. I have seen that happen to a few people, so it can be scary.

The peer review process was a little confusing, but I think I was able to figure it out with the Wikipedia training modules. I just had to read it a couple of times.

We are almost to the end!
