Week 6: Checkpoints & Action

 What a week!

This week flew by so fast that I honestly thought yesterday was Monday. It did not occur to me until this morning that today was not Tuesday. With that being said, you can imagine my shock, when I realize that I had missed a task to complete…well actually more than that. But even then, I can say that I have learned so much from everyone. Last night, we had a meeting for our group project and I felt that it was the most productive and also glad to be able to place faces and names. There are still things I need to achieve this last couple of days, but one thing I have learned, keep going. Even when you feel like everything is done, case close, no possibility found, let me tell you there is always hope. So please keep going! Do not let that project get to you. I know it may be near midnight as you complete your assignments, but you are almost to the finish line. :trophy:

:books: What have I learned this week?

I learned that I actually work best in the mornings or when I have gotten coffee. Ok, so I know what you are thinking. No really, what did you learn this week. Well…maybe a few things, but the most important one was keeping up with deadlines and avoiding procrastination. I know that may be ironic based on the timing of this post, but for the most part, I feel satisfied in how this semester went. I am still learning how to collaborate and speak up.

As an introvert, this is one of my biggest challenges because I miss out on being able to contribute and possibly provide a solution to a problem. I had a great opportunity to speak up in one of our group meeting and I felt that I was able to at least provide some insight to our group’s article. But at the same time, I can consider my introvertness (if that is even a word  ) in being able to hear everyone first and analyze all options available. Either way, I know that being able to share our ideas can come a long way.

Week 7 is finally here. So far, I am finishing up my rough draft for my individual project, Cynthia Shearer. I used my sandbox to write out ideas as they came for my individual project. You can check my latest work ideas for my project here.

Our group project, Stabbing of Adele Morales is coming along great. We have a few more items on our list for editing, but so far our meeting yesterday went well. We have another possible meeting and checkpoint to cover before our final submission. But I have to say it is an honor to be part of this group project with great and intellectual individuals. Being able to hear everyone dialogue yesterday was very exciting.

:woman_raising_hand: Question

  • What have you learned from this semester?
  • What skill if any did you learn and will you take away from this class?

For me, I would say how important it is to write digitally, meaning I was not aware how strict and organized Wikipedia really is behind the scenes. But most importantly, I never new that Wikipedia calls the pages we see as articles. I really enjoy the 'coding" that is use to format the writing on Wikipedia. One of the cool features was finding the Wikitext page. This has been helpful.

:waving_hand: Well..that is all folks! I really enjoy the time with you all and hope to "see’’ some of you online in other courses.
