Unit 2: Evaluating Wikipedia

@grlucas

The training in Unit 2 of Evaluating Wikipedia shows the image below. Are we to choose an article from the bulleted listings to evaluate as part of this assignment in our Sandbox?

When do we choose the article for individual development that we are to work on as part of the Wikipedia project (not the ones we are to contribute to as a group), or is this it? I thought those included the Woman in Red, an article about your hometown, or a hobby or other interest, or an entirely new article.

Please clarify as I am confused on this assignment this week.

I also wasn’t sure which article I was allowed to use when completing the evaluation assignment.

Based on what is in the content section on the D2L class page:

Wikipedia Training:

Are we required to choose one of the articles the class is editing, if so, where do I find those article options?

Hi. I am also confused about this part. The Wikipedia Training instructs us to choose an article, but I assume as students of this course, likely the articles assigned through Project Mailer. However, I did not think about the individual work. I have a feeling it is referring to the articles we were assigned. Because this is what I saw when I clicked on the link for the articles I was assigned by Dr. Lucas.

Then I see this link: The Mailer Review/Volume 10, 2016/Mailer’s Use of Wilhelm Reich - Project Mailer and shows an example of another article to follow? I am uncertain.

Caitlin,

I had some similar questions. Perhaps Dr. Lucas’ answers might help you with at least some of yours: Unit 2 Editing "Post Your Article Evaluation:" Which article? Post where?

Hope this helps,
Sherrill

Yes, this is the correct answer. Thank you, @sherrilledwards.

That said, you really could choose any article you want, especially one that you’re considering for your individual Wikipedia contribution.
