I’ve been looking at all the guidance for the group wiki project, and I’m not grasping how we are supposed to work on this together. I get that right now we are collecting sources, but how do we talk so we can divide up the work and not end up with all of us finding the same thing?
I’m asking more, what’s the preferred forum? Should we exchange info and start an email chain? Is there a place we can start a group chat? Are we supposed to use the “talk” function in Wiki? Maybe start a thread in here?
I just want to see if I am missing something, like official guidance on how we are supposed to formulate a plan and tackle this as a team.
Nina,
I have the same question. Thanks for opening the conversation.
Thanks,
Sherrill
You can approach this any way you want. Work individually, or communicate and divide tasks. Use a talk page to coordinate. Use email. Use this forum. Don’t communicate at all. Post on the article’s talk page what you’re working on. There is no official way to go about it. Do what you feel is correct.
Even if you never communicate, you will still be working on the same article(s). So that in itself is communication.
Does this make sense?
@nrmMGA5108 and @sherrilledwards, I agree we need to discuss how to best collaborate on our shared Wikipedia pages. I think using the class forum to discuss the project would be helpful (especially for big picture questions and early ideas). We could have two separate topics: one for The Prisoner of Sex and one for the Stabbing of Adele Morales.
Does anyone else have additional suggestions or insight?
I’m open to whatever works for the group.
Thanks,
Sherrill
I agree on this, I would love a forum page for each topic- I think it would be a nice way to smooth things out so we don’t work over the top of one another. I went ahead and made a forum page for the Stabbing of Adele Morales if anyone in that group wants to go there to chat, since that’s the one I selected!
Okay, since the idea is popular, I’ve made a forum for the Prisoner of Sex group too, since that’s the one I am in.
Hi,
is it too late to join this group? When I spoke to Dr. Lucas on Tuesday he said to work on the remediate project first then work on this one. But it seems that I am behind a little bit.
