Siren's Playlist

“The Sound of Silence” by Simon and Garfunkel.
I always thought this song had a strange calmness to it. The sirens could use the odd tone to trap sailors in their own thoughts and make them more vulnerable to their call.
“Come Away with Me” by Norah Jones.
This song is a bit warmer, similar to a whispering invitation. The title on its own sounds like something a siren would say to a sailor. It doesn’t initially give off a dangerous tone and that would make the siren more successful I feel. The false comfort would help them a lot.
“Wicked Game” by Chris Isaak.
This song is full of longing and desire that will never be. I feel like it suits a siren very well. Isaak’s voice is very soulful and there’s a pain behind it that adds to the emotional manipulation that a siren would use.
“Only Time” by Enya.
This song reminds me a lot of ocean air and the feel of being on the coast. It’s a classic that makes me think of the kind of music that would be played if I were drifting out over the waves. I know that I can get a bit lost in this song.
“Into the Mystic” by Van Morrison.
This song sounds very spiritual and tender. It’s about being drawn to something bigger than oneself. That’s truly what the siren is all about, convincing sailors that following them is what is best for them.
