The moderator is coming off aggressive, and I feel like they are trying to goad me into an argument to get my account banned. I’m worried if I try to post my content again they’ll just remove it, no matter the changes I make.
Yes, that happens sometimes. I think your explanation was good: you are editing in good faith for an assignment.
You did change quite a bit of the article at one time, but your additions are well supported. This will sometimes garner unwanted attention. I would approach it in two ways:
You might take the editor up on his/her offer, and put additions in your sandbox. This could be a positive experience. Let me know what happens.
Isn’t the point of working in our sandbox going to make it so when we move everything over, its a lot all at once? So normally, that is how we do it?
Are you saying since the spotlight is on me, that’s why I should update a little every day, to kind of see how this moderator reacts? Do I have to keep engaging with her? She didn’t approach me in a nice way, so I’d rather not take her on as a mentor. But I figure she has my account and this page now on her radar, so she’ll be getting alerts or notifications when I make edits, correct?
I did read up on what Wiki considers “promotional” so I’ll try to make my writing sound less like that.
Lastly, how will this affect things from the class perspective? If I’m unable to get past this Wiki gatekeeper, or I’m only able to make a few modest modifications, will that be okay? Since you can see in the history that I have put a lot of effort into trying to update the page.
I tried to add some content back in and the Wiki editor immediately went in and changed everything. So I am going to stop. There’s no point. They are now updating the page on their own, completely hijacked it from me.
Yes, this person does seem to be adding to the article, but the additions and corrections seem good. Your last addition was edited, but the majority of it seems to be there still. I would keep editing. Change your language to be more factual, rather than marketing-like.
